On Monday I wrote myself a relatively long todo list, and now I can happily report that I (or Josh, or us together) have done most of the things on it, and several useful things that weren't on it. I'm really pleased. Most weeks, I feel like I really waste my weekday evenings. I'm always so frustrated by that, since it feels like the weekends are my only time to get stuff done, but also my only time for socializing with anyone but Josh.
Accomplishments:
- Refinished our dinning room table, this time with polyurethane, which should hold up better than the previous finish. Unfortunately, the table has a veneer top, so we didn't think it would be wise to sand off the damaged areas (lest we sand through the veneer), so it doesn't look as good as it might, but at least it shouldn't continue to be damaged.
- I've ordered zippers for my sewing projects, and they should arrive either today or sometime soon.
- We got the rack mounted on Josh's bike.
- I finished the sewing on my purse, so now the tote part has handles and a zipper (so much nicer!).
- We got groceries (well, Josh actually), but not something we generally do midweek.
- Cleaned and vacuumed the apartment (not like our greatest cleaning job ever, but decent).
- Dealt with that auction for the gift for Josh... which was a bit of a hassle due to the seller being new to it and in the UK.
- Put new wheels on my bike (Josh's new bike came with two sets of wheels because the previous owner had upgraded the wheels--we put the lesser pair on my bike).
- Cleaned the kitchen a few times.
- Did laundry.
- Did recycling.
- Cut out fabric for Josh's rain pants (then had to stop for lack of thread of the right color... oops)
- Picked up anniversary clock
Remaining on the list:
- Finish modular pack (yeah, getting to that someday)
- Alter zip off pattern (planning to do this tonight).
- Clean chain on my bike, and I think probably Josh's too, and the bike we are giving to Mandy too (were going to do this last night but then realized we didn't have the tools for removing chains... oops again... speaking of which, if you go to Turin for tubes today on your way home, Josh, you might pick us up such a tool).
- And sometime after we are done dealing with bikes in the kitchen, I want to mop the kitchen floor, but that's not actually on the list just yet, and I think it's a big early to start next weeks list, but it is on my mind.
We should always get so much done. I think it would make me a happier person. And so you might ask why, if I think this would make me a happier person, I am not more disciplined more often? But if so, don't ask me, because I have no idea.
