Wow... average electricity bill for the last 11 months: $36. Standard deviation, around $2. July's electricity bill? $79.16. Wow. I have to agree with Josh though... $44 well spent.

Turning on the A/C has an absolutely amazing effect on your electricity bills, doesn't it. M & I got a couple fans for that very reason--they don't cost must more than the incremental from a few months of A/C, and they use so much less energy that they'll pay for themselves in a couple years. Plus they let us feel all environmentally righteous.

We have a box fan for cooling down the apartment at night, but until just recently, it wasn't *cool* enough at night to bother. Too many nights with lows above 80 ...

Sigh. I used to be a small lizard, who liked it hot, but now I am a large lizard

Holy cow I can't wait until I move into my new condo - my house is ALL WINDOWS and even though we rarely turn on the A/C, we're lucky if our bill is less than $200/month.
