Yay biking

We biked up to Wilmet. It was beautiful. There is also a lighthouse up on the far north side of Evanston. Did they used to rely on lighthouses for navigating in the lake? I suppose it makes sense because you cannot see across it, but I've never heard of lighthouses for navigation on a lake before!

The great lakes are some of the biggest lakes in the world. They aren't your average lakes.

I mean, they (especially Lake Michigan) were and still part of a long trade route to get goods from ports around New York to the middle of the country along the Mississippi river all the way out to New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico.
Most lakes aren't like that.

I'm sure they still use lighthouses actually.
