Gramma's stuff

So, yeah, my grandmother isn't doing so well, and my parents wanted to know what stuff of hers I might want, as it was looking like some stuff was going to be divvied up. So I asked for a pair of nice earrings to be set aside for me, to possibly someday be set into engagement or wedding rings. I meant this as a "someday" and a "just-in-case" sort of thing. My mom, of course, turns around and sends an email to my aunt which included, "She would like to be considered for a pair of earrings perhaps. She would like two matching stones (of any kind) that she and Josh could have incorporated into a pair of wedding rings."

Doh! I think sometimes people hear what they want to hear. Or something. I meant "this might happen someday." Someday could be soon, but it wont necessarily be soon or at all. I don't want pressure here, and I don't like the idea of my dad's entire side of the family thinking I am engaged when I am not.

I always find it amusing when your and Josh's families seem so eager for you two to get engaged.

I think the vast majority of my family would throw a fit at me about being too young if I even suggested thinking about it. I know my mom would very much not be okay with it yet......

It's just amusing to see the stark differences.......
