Backpacking

I'm vaguely interested in going backpacking one more time before admitting that summer is over, weather and schedule permitting... which granted does seem a bit iffy at this point, with September drawing to a close, the equinox having come and gone, and Josh trying to earn a Masters degree by November... but I'm still irrationally hopeful.

Sand Ridge State Forest is less than 3.5 hours away from our place in Chicago, and thus looks like it might be a possibility which wouldn't be too hard to schedule for a 2 or 3 day weekend.

If such a trip were to happen, would anyone in LJ land be interested in coming with us? Ed? Mandy? Someone else?

Any Chicago natives know anything worth passing on about Sand Ridge State Forest? Rachel? Someone else?
