So my wonderful digital camera stopped working about a year ago, after I had had it just over a year and the warrantee had expired. Just this month, they issued a recall for this camera for the exact problem I seem to be having, which they will fix for free.

Except actually they don't because I don't have the recept and warrantee card anymore. They can't provide free service to my camera if I cannot prove that I purchased it legally. However, they can charge me to repair my camera even if it is stolen property. Because that makes so much sense. Bah.

How many people still have this sort of stuff lying around for a product they purchased over 2 years ago? Are they just trying to get away with not fixing any cameras for free, or am I just a weirdo. I've only moved like two or three times since I purchased the damn thing...

Batteries

Anybody have any idea how much a dead battery (say an AA) is worth? Like materials and whatnot if it was going to be recycled. Are we talking pennies here? Dimes? Not actually worth anything but a health hazard at the land fill? I'm really curious...

Frig

We cleaned out the frig today for the first time since we moved here. Probably something we should make it a habit to do every couple months. We freed up a lot of tuperware, and removed several serious health hazzards. There was some pretty gross stuff, by overall, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had feared.

Now to figure out what else I want to do with my day. My menstrual cramps are being pretty debilitation today (and yesterday), which makes it more difficult. We talked about going mini-golfing, but I'm not sure I want to get that far from my hot pack. It would probably make more sense to do some really serious cleaning, and some embroidery, and maybe play cards with Josh or something. Though probably there's no real excuse not to get dressed now that it is after noon.

Anyhow, here's some ideas for myself that I can do at home:
- Hang pictures
- Do embroidery
- Digitize capitol letters for embroidery (Found images, done A-F)
- Clean up the bedroom (done)
- Stow summer time clothes (done)
- Clean up the dining area (done)
- Finish cleaning the kitchen (done)
- Mop the kitchen floor (done)
- Write my pesky last two thank you notes (They are totally pesky though--I haven't got a current address for one, and one of the names was completely illegible on the other!)
- Write Josh's last few thank you notes
- Research massage oils

I don't think I should have too much trouble keeping myself busy...

Rosa Parks

I heard that Rosa Parks died a few days ago, but I didn't stop to actually think about it until a couple minutes ago. She has always been one of my favorite historical figures, but I was surprised to learn that she was still alive when she got the congressional metal of honor a few years ago. I just assumed that she lived and died a long time ago... I guess I like to imagine that the civil rights movement was longer ago than it really was. I guess I am both sad to hear that she died recently, and happy to hear that she lived until recently.

It's expensive to travel at Christmas time.

Really damn expensive.
