To me, flying an American flag in memory of 9/11 does not show sadness at the loss two years ago, but rather it shows support and pride at the horrible revenge taken on so many people who had nothing to do with it. Putting up flags and calling for national unity makes the problems of hate and fear worse, not better.
Let's just say that I think people who go around waving american flags for 9/11 are doing (or supporting) nothing to make a future comparable event less likely, and a lot to make it more likely. Speaking of which, have you seen "Bowling for Columbine" yet? Honestly, how could anyone be anything but offending by having the symbols of the organization that funded and trained Ossama and his cronies put up all over campus on the anniversary of such a horrible event? In my opinion, the flags are right up there with, "bring 'em on!"
