Well, I didn't low score it. In fact I got more than half the points. It's not even the lowest test score I've gotten at Mudd--it's only tied. The average is lower this time, but not nearly as low as I'd like. I should be disappointed, except somehow I'm too disappointed in my understanding of the material and my inability to think straight on tests this semester (even in clapping for credit) to be disappointed by my score. Before the final, I think I need to sit down and work a lot of problems. I mean, like imediately before the final. This is because I've noticed on the quantum homework that the first 2 or 3 hours I spend being absolutely stupid, and then (most of the time) my brain turns on and I am actually able to do stuff. I don't have any idea why that is, but on a 3 hour exam when I also spend a while just panicing... yeah, it doesn't work so well.

So this morning, after quantum, and after writing to LJ about my test, I went back to bed for a couple hours. I'd been intending to get the week's research done, but I was just feeling too sorry for myself. Eventually Josh made me get up and we went to lunch. After lunch I worked with Jess on the print project stuff. Then we went to class and cleaned out our display case and decided precisely which books we'll put on display. Finally, right before class ended we divided up the books according to who is doing what captions. We still have a bunch to do on the project, but I think I can count on Jess to do her part and now that I actually have the books and some time and direction, I think I can do my part too. After that, I went to my research meeting, which was pretty uneventful seeing as I hadn't done any research, but I got to give my second rough draft of my tech report to Haskell and go over the data analysis a little. Apparently my data is just fine as it is, but I do need to check on my uncertainty stuff. It would be nice to get a better chi-squared, but he thinks it's fine if I don't. That makes me feel tons better because it means my tech report is practically done. I'm absolutely exaused (the nap didn't help) and I just got out of the shower, but I'm mostly feeling pretty good, so I will go to contra dancing late after I've dried off and gotten dressed.
