I remember that roses were extremely expensive, but to the girl who sold daffodils for 50 cents/dozen, expensive has a very large range. Silly me.

I guess when I average this out over the two non-existant birthday presents, the $8 Christmas gift, the $10 Christmas gift, and the $5 birthday gift in the 2 + epsolon years that we've been dating, it's really not that much to spend. Yeah, that's a good way to think about it.

A brief rant about meetings

2 hours by work followed by 1 hour of meeting is highly inefficient. Even on weeks when I'm not quite so swamped and can work for 3 hours, this ratio of work to meeting is unacceptable.

It is also very frustrating. Prof Haskell: "Why haven't you ____." Me "..." what I would like to say is something along the lines of, "I've only had a few hours to work on this, I shouldn't have worked on it much more than a few hours. I'm getting there, give me a little fucking time!"
