Josh's house
Aug. 23rd, 2002 04:16 pmSo I'm in WV visiting Josh. Peggy is really friendly, but it's kind of weird to be here. Josh and I got really used to being able to be alone whenever we wanted, so it's a little hard to be under the watchful and careful eyes of his mother, father, and sister. We went up to Cooper's Rock State Park today. It's really pretty. We went there this time last summer too, but it's a pretty big place and we found some hiking trails I hadn't been on before.
Peggy and Paul (Josh's parents) are going to be moving to Cincinnati this winter, and they are planning on "building" a house there. Where by building, I mean that they are going to hire someone to build them a house from plans out of a book. I'm still having some trouble getting my head around that concept. I guess I don't see the point. These are really popular house designs, why don't they just go find a house like it to buy? Apparently there is a house that for sale that they like, but it is (gasp) 30 years old! That is just too old, apparently. I'm having even more trouble getting my head around that idea. 30 years too old? WTF? I grew up in a beautiful old farm house that was about 100 years old when I was young. I also don't get the whole new house design thing. A living room and a family room? Why? What are you supposed to do with two of them? A dining room and a breakfast area? Again, why do you need both? A shower for every bedroom? Isn't that a bit excessive?
Josh is trying to kill me.
Okay, I guess I don't have anything else to say. So long. See you. Actually I think I do have more to say, but I'm distracted. Good bye.
