My FFT computes random numbers. Aren't you proud of me. Unfortunately they aren't very good random numbers. They are also not a very good FFT. Actually, they are a very bad example of either. Blah. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of clear info about how to write an FFT for data sets that don't have a length equal to an integer power of two. I think that I will tell Haskell that this is being absolutely impossible. And, given what he told me yesterday and some stuff I discovered on Friday, we can get away with only measuring the powers in about 5 frequencies, instead of 12, so we may as well just do a DFT. Perhaps I will look at the FFT thing more some other time, but it wont be this summer.
That means that now it is time to make more corrections to my papers, and start on my presentation.
BTW, LJ doesn't like the way I spelled FFT.

The one good thing about being apart is playing bridge at the zone. Okay, there are probably other good things about being away from Josh, but they are not coming to mind right now. Unfortunately online bridge is not as much fun as bridge in person with 3 other people. Or "Honeymoon Bridge" which we played a lot of last weekend. Honeymoon bridge is a very silly game. As you might guess, it's two-person bridge, and therefore doesn't work all that well. Actually, if you were really good at counting cards, you would have perfect knowledge by the time bidding started, and pretty good knowledge before that. So I think that it's replay value is highly limited. Therefore, if Josh and I ever go on a honeymoon, we may need to bring Micah and Ariel along.
I need to remember to eat. Speaking of which, I think I still have some German chocolate cake. Mmmm... potato salad and cake for dinner. Yummy.
Wow, when I started writing about 5 minutes ago, I was about ready to cry, but now I feel great (if a little hungry and tired). Maybe I should call my sister and chat. I bet that would make me feel even better, and I haven't talked to her in a while.

Princess Amber of Agondria
Jul. 30th, 2002 09:34 pmI've decided to post my "Princess Amber" story on LJ (
princess_amber). It'll be friends only and is in a separate journal, so if anybody is interested in reading it (I hope somebody is), just let me know and I'll give you access. I've only got the first 2 chapters up so far because I have to do a little bit of reformatting, but I intend to have everything written so far up there by the time I go home on Saturday.
This is the story I started the weekend before I started high school, so if you don't think it's very good, that's my excuse.
