So much to talk about...

I'm back at home for a week before school starts. I dropped off my stuff in Claremont because we were down in LA for my cousin's wedding. The wedding was really dreadful. There were 11 bridesmaids and 11 groomsmen. The colors were black and hot pink. There were around 350 guests. There was an hour and a half or more between the ceremony and when the wedding party arrived at the reception because of the pictures. The ceremony was very "family values" oriented. Pretty much, they also married God, not to mention that he promised to be her spiritual leader and she promised to submit to him--I am not kidding. It was enough to make me wonder if I am actually willing to get married at all ever. Lots of people had tattoos. The dinner wasn't very good. There was no alcohol, which actually made some sense since we're pretty sure neither bride nor groom nor most of the guests were over 21. There was a dollar dance (give the bride or groom a dollar to dance with her or him). That was kind of neat. I caught the bouquet, which was kind of cool. I blame Josh because he made (i.e. requested and looked cute) that I play Frisbee with him this summer... I think it did something for my reflexes. Of course, the bouquet just about took my head off... so maybe it was just a sign from God... or not. Also, we decorated their car sort of at the last minute. That was kind of fun. However, for the most part I must say that I would just assume have a wedding that is entirely not like that.
My second laptop battery arrived and I picked it up at school. I also picked up my archeoastronomy books (I still don't have the packet--it's not that big and pretty expensive--any interest in splitting it, Rachel?). I read the first 20 pages or so out of the "Stairways to the Stars" one. So far it is interesting, but mostly stuff I already know... on the other hand, most of the first 20 pages were introduction and stuff.
I get to see my freshman tonight. Apparently Monday is movie night for her and this guy she knows. I was a little confused that she'd be inviting me along since she is about to go away to college and this will be their last movie night. But apparently he isn't her boyfriend (darn!) he's gay. So much for having a guy to tease her about...
I'm going to go do stuff, or something.
